Ironing shirts

Before ironing, it is important:

  • to always adjust the iron temperature and to iron on a setting appropriate for the fabric of your shirt, in this case the cotton programme.
  • to slightly humidify your shirt using a spray. Natural fibres, such as cotton, are very sensitive to dry heat.

And then, the ironing itself:

  • The neck: open the neck and place it flat on the ironing board. Start on the back spreading out the points. The, turn it over and iron on the visible side in the same way.
  • The sleeves: start with the cuffs, in the same way as for the collar. Then lay the sleeves flat on the ironing board, ensuring that you do not press on the edges, to avoid folds.
  • Back and front: iron, moving the shirt progressively as you go, keeping it flat on the ironing board. Remember to iron between the buttons.

Tips!

Tip n° 1: To avoid your shirt crumpling after ironing, hang it up straight away on a hanger that its wide on the shoulders.

Tip n° 2: Wash your shirt before wearing it for the first time, this will make it more supple.

Tip n° 3: To iron your sleeves, use a small sleeve ironing board. This makes ironing them much easier, without folds.
