Looking after your shirts
Day to day…
- Take care not to allow perfume to be poured directly on to your shirt, this may cause permanent staining.
- For the same reasons, wait until your deodorant has dried before putting on your shirt.
- If there is a stain, rinse your shirt immediately in warm water, before the cotton absorbs the stain.
- Check the buttons regularly. Losing them is very annoying given that they are so quick to re-sew.
Washing them…
- The best way is to wash your shirts by hand, even if it takes a bit longer, this prevents the cotton fibres from being roughly handled.
- If you are washing by machine, use a lukewarm programme.
- Always separate your light shirts from your dark shirts.
- Similarly, above all avoid putting your shirts into the dryer. As well as damaging the fabric, it fades the colours.
